This universal drink comes from coffee berries that contain the coffee bean. There are several species of coffee, the most common being Arabica and Robusta. Arabica coffee is considered more suitable for drinking. This is why about three quarters of coffee cultivated worldwide is coffee Arabica. Brazil is the world leader in coffee production followed by Vietnam and Colombia.

Over the years, gourmet coffee blends have been introduced. There is Blue Mountain coffee, Hawaiian Kona Coffee, Guatemalan Antigua and Philippine Barako. Blue mountain coffee is considered by many as the Rolls-Royce of all coffee. It has a full flavor and provides a very clean taste with noticeable sweetness. Barako on the other hand is a rare and exotic coffee grown primarily in the Philippines. Its famed flavor and taste has the makings of great coffees like Hawaii’s Kona and Jamaica’s Blue Mountain.
