Due to the link between certain pesticides used to grow crops and cancer, more people are watching what they take in. Awareness of the dangers of chemicals that may find its way to what we eat and drink has made people look for alternatives. It is no surprise that more coffee shops are offering organic coffee. There are also more farmers getting into organic farming. Organic means growing a crop without the use of pesticides, insecticides, or herbicides.

Organic foods are free of preservatives and additives. When it comes to livestock, the animals are fed a healthy diet without the injection of antibiotics or growth hormones. Studies report that organic foods contain higher nutrient levels compared to products grown conventionally.
