There’s a connection between your early morning cup of coffee and the birds you see outside your window. Conventional coffee plantations are replacing wildlife habitats that contribute to the decline of songbird population. On the other hand, shade grown coffee, the traditional method of coffee farming, offers a better alternative. As many as 150 species of birds have now been identified on shade coffee farms.
Why you should choose shade grown coffee:~When coffee beans mature more slowly in the shade, natural sugars increase and make the flavor of coffee much better ~Shade grown coffee is most often organically grown and are free of chemical use ~This type of farming requires little or no chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides thus promoting a healthy environment.~It also provides bird habitat and greater biodiversity as well as helps sustain rainforests
