This tea was initially marketed by Stash Tea Company, owned by partners Smith and Lee. It was sold to a Japanese tea company, Yamamotoyama. Still later, in 1999 it was sold to Starbucks. It is now available in various flavors and forms exclusively from Starbucks. Tazo tea was created for one purpose: to reinvent tea and the tea experience. By using high quality ingredients and a tremendous amount of experience and creativity, Tazo tea has produced unique products that create an emotional connection with the consumer at many levels.
In loose leaf form, you can get Tazo teas in black or while tea and in herbal infusion. Just use a heaping teaspoon of loose tea leaves in 8 ounces of water. The complex and bold character allows it to stand up to milk nicely although unlike many breakfast teas it can be enjoyed on its own merits.
