I wonder why, but hot cocoa always brings back memories. Almost always they involve family. What I will always remember are cold December nights after midnight mass on Christmas Day. The food on the table will change from year to year, but hot cocoa and ensaymada will always be there. The best comfort food, if ever there was one. Remembering times like these, you can almost feel the hot drink flowing down your throat.
Then there was the early morning wedding of my favorite niece. After the ceremony we all trooped to their house and sipped hot cocoa with churros. I still remember the hot cocoa but have forgotten all about the rest of the food. This drink may bring back memories but they are just ordinary beverage that you can get from the stores. Hot cocoa mixes are available in their classic chocolate flavor but they have introduced fun flavors as well. You can have a choice of french vanilla or double chocolate meltdowns.
