Frappe is coffee that is not stirred, it is shaken. It is basically instant coffee mixed with cold water and shaken vigorously in a shaker. Over the years, frappe has taken different tastes. Sugar, according to taste, is usually added. Other ingredients such as Kahlua or ice cream may be added. It is a great drink on hot summer days.
Frappe mixes are now available in the market. These are smooth and creamy frappe base that is blended with ice, milk or water. Gourmet syrups and sauces are added to create different exotic flavors. Make your own frappe mix by following these directions: ~Put 4oz. (120ml) of liquid, water or milk, in blender ~Add two level scoops of powder ~Add 2 oz. (60ml) flavored syrup~Fill a 16oz. (460ml) cup with aerated ice and add to blender. ~Add a shot of espresso (optional) ~Put the top on the blender. Blend until smooth – about 30 seconds. ~Pour and enjoy
