The breakthroughs made by modern science the past 50 years have been both amazing and scary. Some are outright unbelievable. How else would you call, stem cell research, face transplants and noetic science? How about GMO foods? GMO means genetically modified organism. We are capable of engineering foods to have totally different DNA.
Like most breakthroughs in modern science, GMO foods are very controversial. There are no long term studies done on it. We don’t know the effect on humans in the long run. The advantage of GMO foods are we can make foods that are resistant to pest and droughts. We can make them bigger and more nutrient and still maintain the same taste.
