A convenient and easy way to enjoy home-cooked meals after a hard day’s work is by using a slow cooker. You could leave a slow cooker on in the morning and come home to a delicious stew in the afternoon. Korean Beef Stew is one surefire meal your family will love.
Procedure:1) Mix 2 pounds of beef brisket, ½ cup soy sauce, ¼ cup water, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, ginger strips, Chinese 5-spice powder, and star anise in the slow cooker.2) Leave the slow cooker to simmer the stew for 6 to 8 hours.3) Add sugar or soy sauce as desired. You may also add a few chilis if you want the stew spicy the way Koreans do.4) When the meat is tender, add chopped onion leeks.5) Top with toasted sesame seeds and serve with hot rice.
