beef tenderloin

We were not a beef eating family. Our beef consumption was limited to ground round for meat balls and spaghetti sauce. Once in a while we had beef tenderloin cooked the beefsteak way with lots of onions and soy sauce. We all loved that. Even our pet dog has developed a liking for this dish.
I always tried to incorporate vegetables in our meals even if everybody else, from the dad to the kids were not great fans. A bundle of beans, when sautéed would usually appear on the table at least a couple of times after its first introduction. If not consumed after that, it would stay in the ref a couple of days more until it was finally discarded in the garbage bin. Too much nagging was wasted on the young. Little did I know that it was not necessary. When they started eating in school cafeterias, they started eating vegetables and nobody had to tell them.
