I watched an episode of the show “Kitchen Nightmares” on TV and I have to admit, it was difficult to watch. The restaurant featured on the episode was on the brink of closure due to rising debt and inability to make profit. The problem of course was deeper. The head chef and head waitress couldn’t get along and they were always heard screaming at each other. Two staff members kept taking home restaurant items, which often lead to many dishes listed on the food menus being “unavailable.”

The show’s host was able to turn their situation, though. He was tough, harsh even, but the toughness resulted in the change of attitudes, particularly the head chef and waitress. He emphasized cleanliness and put a stop to the pilferage by having one of the stealing staff members fired. He also renovated the restaurant’s look and theme, making it more casual than fine dining.
