Something to Bring Out the Flavor of Meats

The best and most expensive cut of meat won’t be any good without the right spices to bring out the flavor. A barbeque dry rub will bring out the flavor of pork spare ribs, chicken, beef brisket and other meats. There are probably as many dry rub formulas as there are families. Some have been handed down through generations. Others have been tweaked one way or another to become a unique family heirloom.
A barbeque dry rub can be as simple as mixing white and brown sugars with salt and pepper. It can also be as complicated as a concoction of loads of different spices. It is all a matter of taste. It is a general consensus, though, that a good barbeque rub should have a bit of spiciness to it. It should not also be overwhelming as to overpower the tasty goodness of the meat.
